My consulting approach to literacy enhancement is simple. I match innovative work to school system priorities in order for participants to hit the ground running. I begin by listening and asking questions of school leaders to determine their needs, identify how those needs align with best practices and the resources needed to move forward, and make recommendations based upon this analysis.
The instructional leadership development model I use emphasizes hands-on and job-embedded learning, practical skills, and the ongoing self-reflection that enables educators to continue to improve their leadership and instructional practices.

I have been an educator with over thirty-five years of experience in public education as an assistant superintendent, curriculum director, elementary and junior high principal, elementary teacher and science specialist. My passions in education include working with school and district leaders to enhance their instructional leadership skills, creating school-wide cultures of independent readers, and assisting educators as they work with students to enhance student-led discussions in classrooms.
